Before activating an account, you can verify the signal strengthon the 3G wireless modem interface by using the show modem wireless interface cl-0/0/8firmware command, as shown in the following example, and notethe value for the Electronic Serial Number (ESN) field:

Before you begin, the service provider mustactivate your account before you can activate the CDMA EV-DO 3G wirelessmodem card.
Using the electronic serial number (ESN) you provided and youraccount information, the service provider supplies you with the followinginformation for manual activation of the 3G wireless modem card:
Master subsidy lock (MSL)—activation code
Mobile directory number (MDN)—10-digit user phonenumber
International mobile station identify (IMSI)—Mobilesubscriber information
Simple IP user identification (SIP-ID)—Username
Simple IP password (SIP-Password)—Password
You also need to obtain the following information from the 3Gwireless modem card itself for the activation:

System identification (SID)—Number between 0 and32767
Network identification (NID)—Number between 0 and65535
Use the CLI show modem wireless interface cl-0/0/8network
Use the CLI operational mode command to manually activate the3G wireless modem card.
